 Welcome to the homepage for ÆSIR — the Applied Embedded Systems and IoT Research Laboratory at the University of Arkansas. Directed by Professor Alexander Nelson and housed within the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering,  ÆSIR is focused on research pertaining to cutting-edge and cross-disciplinary applications of pervasive and ubiquitous computing. Our current projects include: instrumentation of rehabilitation equipment and tasks for mobile health, community radio networks and replicable cloud architecture for smart & connected community applications, and machine learning for mobile-based edge computing. We are actively looking for collaborators for future research both industrial and academic. Students who are interested in pursing research (undergraduate or graduate) in this domain are encouraged to reach out directly to Dr. Nelson.
